The Virtue of Pride

Are you proud?

What are you proud of? If you are proud, it is because of good things, right? Good comes from good and that makes pride good.

To be proud is to have something good to claim and even proclaim to others. It is downright admirable. Shout out loud, be proud, and toot your own horn. Pride is a passion for self and a passion for life. Passion breathes and breeds life.

We live fully by the virtue of pride.

Pride is the awareness and acceptance of our own power of body and mind. Pride is the prize of our importance, which in turn moves us higher on the rungs of the ladder of life.

Pride is the "eye of the tiger" that compels you to fight to the death rather than bowing down to anyone.

Be mighty, be proud, and be mighty proud because the proud prime themselves for mastery, while the meek shall inherit slavery. Pride will keep you free. Have the attitude of being a giant bigger than any obstacle and you will not fall or falter, but you will overcome and crash barriers.

Pride means having faith in what you can achieve, even if it is something no one has ever achieved before and is called impossible by others. But being prideful, you do not accept the control and limitations of others, for you are the one who rules your world.

Lions live in prides. Listen to their mighty roar as they tell you how proud they are to be "King of the Beasts." They win the game, then they eat the game, and live the life of a conqueror. Natural Selection favors conquerors. Conquerors shape our evolution.

They are the catalysts of the divine plan of the gods and goddesses. Wield your pride and become one. Nature rewards the bold and the proud.

A test of men in a large region of Asia found that 8% of them have Genghis Khan in their lineage. There is a reason your ancestors are called grand and great, you should be proud of them and proud of yourself because they live on in you. You are the manifestation of their pride.

Pride is the natural outcome of honor. Other people and ourselves honor us for our accomplishments and qualities. Give pride to others by honoring them. Give pride to yourself by honoring yourself. To have pride is to have purpose, meaning, and integrity of being.

You have every right to be proud because you have earned it. Be proud to be alive because it is the strong that survive. Be proud for what you are because you are a marvelous being called human.

Be proud for who you are because you are unique. Be proud for what you are to become, because your pride will mold you in one success after another. To be proud is to be great and to be great is to be proud.

Pride gives you a standard of excellence and is how you leave your mark on the world. You can build a renowned reputation with your name by having the pride in yourself to only put it on the best work you can do.

Determination, will, ego, and pride go hand in hand. They make the woman, they make the man, who demands and is in demand. Pride is a fire of motivation and devotion to liberated ethical living.

Pride is the characteristic of strength and dominance in those who unapologetically dare to seize and flaunt their highest potential for the good of themselves and others.

Pride means you believe in yourself. You exist and have a reason to exist. Pride makes you feel good. You feel good when you have a healthy self-esteem and respect for yourself. You are worthy, you are valuable, and you deserve to have pride. Pride gives you personal power and self-satisfaction.

It is always best to have pride because it is always best to be pleased with yourself. It is good because no matter where you live, you always have to live with yourself. You can run, but you cannot hide from yourself.

If you have pride you would not want to run away or hide. People do not run and hide from things that are good and pleasurable.

Pride is that self-assurance that attracts the good things in life like a magnet. Good things that you can be proud of, because they belong to your good, nay make that great-awesome-fantastically-stupendous-self.

MOTIVATION

All of us, no matter where life leads us, need to be positively motivated to succeed. That is especially true when things are not going our way and when business projects that we have undertaken just do not seem to come off as expected. This is the point when fear can creep into our thinking and that nagging little voice says, this is not going to work.

So what do you do?

Well first, steer clear of negative people. Sometimes these people can be your nearest and dearest, but this is not the time to confide your doubts and fears to them. Seek out positive, enthusiastic people from your acquaintances, family or friends. Assume their positive and confident outlooks on life. Find and read good motivational books.

Think success and go back and re-tackle the issues that are holding back your project. Often it is just a matter of tweaking aspects of the operation to get it moving. If you have done the research properly there has to be a reason that things are not going right.

Persistence will pay dividends in the end. If you have the desire to succeed this will inevitably provide the driving force and energy required to get you to where you need to go. This is personal motivation in action. This is the energy and desire working together to achieve a positive result.

It is very easy to get down and depressed when things do not go your way. It is very easy to give in to fear and despair, but these attitudes only lead to less success. Talking with negative people increases depression and loss of motivation. In a sense we are what we think and we do need to motivate ourselves to achieve.

In a way it is harder to claim the positive because it requires energy but being negative saps energy, while being positive generates energy. Being positive generates motivation and enthusiastic motivation produces results. Nothing is a lost cause; it just requires thoughtful restructuring at worst or minor tweaking at best. You just need the motivation and enthusiasm to carry it through.

Life can be hard but look for the positives in everything, even the difficult situations. Have a joy for life; mix with positive, energetic people. Allow their enthusiasm and motivational attitudes to penetrate the shell of depression that is clogging your life. Develop goals and regain the motivation and drive in your life.

To Be Successful, You Must Stay Motivated!

If you surveyed 50 people asking each their definition of success, chances are you would receive fifty different answers. Even so, there are certain steps everyone must follow in order to be successful. One of the most important is - staying motivated.

Do you have a new job?

Have you started your own business?

Are you in the process of earning a degree?

Do you have the desire to lose weight?

If one of these scenarios is a recent event in your life, you are probably still excited about the opportunity. That also probably means you are motivated, as well. Excitement and motivation, often, work hand in hand.
But, how do you stay motivated after several weeks or months have gone by? How do you maintain the same level of excitement that you had when you began your new adventure?

There are many things you can do to stay motivated. It is important to set aside a few minutes or more, each day, in an effort to keep your motivation level at it’s highest. There will be days that you may feel less motivated than usual. Let's face it; we all have a bad day now and then. So, by doing all that you can to maintain a positive attitude, your "down days" will probably be few and far between.

Read a book. There are hundreds of books that have been written on the topic of motivation. Visit your local bookstore or library and browse the shelves. Ask the clerk or librarian for author and title recommendations. Both will be happy to help you.

If you have a busy schedule, don't despair. Set aside 15 or 20 minutes each day. Even if you only read a few pages, during that time, it WILL help to keep you motivated. I do it and can attest to the fact that it really DOES work!

If you are in the process of achieving a goal such as weight loss or top salesperson, make a "dream board". A dream board is a poster, of sorts. If a trimmer figure is your goal, cut out pictures of the new wardrobe you will someday buy.

If you dream of out-selling your peers, find pictures of your dream home or vacation destination... of the new car you would LOVE to drive. Make a collage with these pictures and hand it somewhere where you will see it each day.

There are many other things you can do to stay motivated. Believe in yourself. Stay healthy. Maintain a positive attitude.

You will be amazed at what you can achieve!

HOW MUCH HAVE THE PRESENT ECONOMIC CRISIS AFFECTED PEOPLE GLOBALLY?

At this present slump economy which had affected the working class globally, what will be the common phrases do you hear from family members, friends, neighbours and newspaper.

“Honey, I lost my job” next “Our Company had laid-off a few hundred workers” next “We are financially strapped, how we are going to pay our daily bills” next ”XXX Company is laying off hundreds of workers to reduce cost”.

The International Labour Organisation predicted about 20 million people going to lose their jobs with ongoing of this fearful economic crisis.

Everybody have to put on their austerity belt to offset daily expenditures and cutting cost over unnecessary expenses.

Battling a deepening recession, some parents even scale back or abandon day care services, keeping their children at home under the care of their grandparents.

Many people have to upend their work life balance because petrol and food prices have become prohibitive and the average day care costs outpace rent and mortgage payments even for those drawing salaries. Even after a sharp decline in petrol prices.

It’s not low wage earners feel the pinch but also hit those people who thought they were safe from this troubling economy for a while.

Governments around the world must find solution to unemployment, and the rate is jumping to a higher figure dramatically.

People need to work, they cannot be left without work, and gone are the days where you can make choices of the types of occupation according to your interest, and it’s a grab whatever job is available situation for the sake of living hood.

FINANCIAL CRISIS LESSONS

What is actually on everybody’s mind now?

Most people might be worried about the dreadful financial crisis, work, money situation or your wealth.

Is it all that you should do?  “NO” let us focus on the current economic crisis and start learning from the impact and brave ourselves to face the worst and to better our survival tactics.

First informal, here is a new perspective for those whom are worried about their money.

“Wealth is not how much money you have. Wealth is what you’re left with when you lose all your money” quoted by Roger Hamilton.

Now what are you left with, when all your money goes?

You may have forgotten about your personal wealth that you have accumulated over the years, those skills that you learn, knowledge absorbed from society, the network of associates and finally the character that had matured over difficult periods.

Stop, stop, stop, all the worries, instead focus on building and expanding a quality business network with your knowledge and skills. For those, working class people, look for more part time jobs available around your community.

One must also stop caring about reputation, but to focus and refine our character, because you have zero influences on your reputation.

It is what people think of you, and that you have total influences on your own character and your mindset.

GOOD AND BAD INVESTOR THOUGHTS

Most Financial Management courses, educate its student about the positive correlation between risk and return at the beginner stage.

The higher the risk of an investment with higher return of profit and that is vice versa of course.

Institutional and private investors who critically acquired high yielding sub-prime financial structured instruments disregarded this fundamental principle.

Most of the re-packaging and re-selling of sub-prime mortgage risks will not eliminate the ultimate credit default risk that is based on credit standing of the end borrower and not the emitting banks.

But yet numerous financial institutions and private investors keep purchasing these high yielding sub-prime instruments or debentures and should we follow them blindly?

Well, the answer is to put forward questions to the financial promoters were;

Why does this instrument offer such a high yield, when promoted as low risk investment?

What will be the risk?

We need to have the transparency of this risk before even having any thoughts of investing into this so call safe investments.

Over confidence is one of the most common traps, people might fall into and must be aware of all the knowledge gaps and perceptual blind spots.

This sort of situation is dangerous as we do not know what we are supposed to know from the financial promoters.

As a matter of facts, most financial institutions did really know what risks they were taking in their books and the same with for the high yield craving investors having risks in their portfolio.

Pay attention to what you really do not know about any business situation before investment done as the quote by Aldous Huxley is right; “Facts do not cease to exist just because they are ignored”.

It amplifies the effects of risk ignorance’s by Groupthink 2006, a few economists and policy makers warned that the US real estate market would get into deep trouble as soon as US interest rates start to rise again.

It was ignored as these critics were often ridiculed, silenced and forced to adhere to the prevailing mindset of the dominant uncritical majority.

Although clear warning signs of an imminent US real estate crisis were voiced for more than two years, most investors failed to take notice or just ignoring the facts.

So finally, what causes the financial crisis?

It is primarily herd thinking coupled with over confidence, ignorance, egoism and greed with short term focus on exciting growth, personal gains, remuneration and neglect of sustainable long term growth and profitability.

The greedy mind of many investors with its thoughts; “I want to have more and more profits now” as such thinking is value exploitation at its worst. It is the antithesis of value creation as of a responsible investor or business thinker.

As reveal by statics of the world population, which have reached to 6.8 billion people living on this earth to the latest and estimate to increase to 9.0 billion by the year 2050.

Conclusion of today’s economic crisis is human error, not by any natural disaster; it is the human’s ignorance, greed, egoism which Lord Buddha defines as poison embedded into the human’s mind.

As quoted by Albert Einstein “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”.

As times are getting tougher with the economy and recession stances, will our fellow humans eradicate bad thoughts, wake up, it is time for a new creative renaissance.

The slogan will be; “Revive our economy to reduce sufferings and agony of the recession”

Educational Psychology and Its Benefits

Educational Psychology and Its Benefits

Psychology may naively be defined as the study of behaviors. And the educational psychology is the study of teachers, students, educational curriculums and the teaching methods involved.

It not only provides a systematic database of facts but also helps you to develop certain generalized convictions to be applied in the classroom environment. That is why the educational psychology is called an applied psychology.

The main objective of the educational psychology is to help the teachers in teaching the students. However, there are certain benefits that you can get as a teacher:

1. You can develop certain convictions with the help of educational psychology to promote your students' mental growth, improve their learning process and develop their personalities. You can also help them in their social behaviors.

2. You can define and set-up education objectives of your students in terms of their conducts, attitudes and behaviors. When you have a clear picture of your refined goals and objectives, you can develop a befitting curriculum besides improving your teaching methods.

3. The educational psychology is not a one-way traffic. Being a teacher, you can solve your own behavioral problems as well. You can develop a certain level of sympathy and objectivity with the problems of your students to get the best results.

4. You can achieve better understanding of behaviors of your students. You can make them realize importance of social relationships and improve their social confidence, their participation in groups and cooperativeness.

5. You can analyze your collected data and use the generalized convictions in handling certain educational situations such as selection of instruction material, structure of teaching methods and development of desired outcomes. The instruction modules should be developed in a way that the instruction material and the teaching methods should not obstruct the learning process.

6. You can develop a better perspective for judging both the results of your own teachings and the educational practices of your colleagues. The educational psychology provides a background to handle intricacies involved in teaching of children. It helps you to develop a scientific, objective and problem solving mindset towards the learning process.

7. You can analyze behaviors of your students and find solid ways for normal adjustment and personality development. The educational psychology also helps you to set up and define progressive teaching education. You can develop guidance programs and functional formats for organizational and administrative matters.

8. A scientific usage of the educational psychology can also help you to solve certain clinical problems such as reading disability, stammering, chronic offensive attitudes and emotional disturbance. However, it is advisable to consult professional psychiatrist in severe cases.

In brief, the educational psychology offers ways to study behaviors of your students and develop solid convictions to handle educational problems.

The studies have proven that proper knowledge of educational psychology can help the teacher to achieve their educational goals and objectives in a smarter way.

Putting the Laws of Attraction to Work for You

How many times have you sat back and thought how wonderful it would be if you could just wish things true?

Humans have always been attracted to this kind of fantasy, embodied in the fairy tale of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp. This desire, this need to have what seems unattainable is evident in the popularity of gambling and the state lotteries.

People will spend their last dollars for the chance to change their entire lives in the course of fiver minutes. But the irony is vast. Without knowing it, humans have had the power to obtain their dreams within them all along.

So have you. It's called the Law of Attraction. It has been around since the universe began, and it is working in your life right now.

The simplest way of defining the Law of Attraction is this:

You get what you think about, your thoughts determine your destiny. Thoughts have an energy all their own, and they attract things which have a common energy. It is one of the Laws of the Divine Universe and it applies to everyone. It is as unbreakable as any law of science or mathematics.

It does not even require your belief to work. Only to control it, to seize your destiny, must you believe in the Law's power.

So the question is: how can you use the Law of Attraction to get what you desire?

There are some guidelines to help you get started on the right path. Firstly, you must decide what it is that you desire. This is called developing clarity. If you find it difficult to determine what it is that you want, try thinking of it in the contrast.

When you find what it is in life that you don't want, it will be much easier to pinpoint what it is that you do want.

Your second step on this path is to use a technique called vibrational matching. This is nothing more or less than using quiet meditation to determine your feelings on your perceived desire. Use feeling and meditation to determine if your thoughts are predominately positive about this desire.

Finally, you must allow your desire to come to you. Your would be surprised at how often we prevent ourselves from getting what we want by focusing on the negative. Begin allowing things to come to you, and stop waging wars against the things you do not want.

If you're fighting something, that means you're thinking about it. Therefore, without even realizing it, you could be attracting the very things you're fighting against.

Before jumping headfirst into applying the Law in your life, make sure you read and research a little beyond this basic introduction. Studying others' experiences can help you to avoid some of the common pitfalls newcomers are susceptible to.

Beyond all, good luck, and remember: The Law is working in all places at all times. It's up to your to use it for yourself, rather than allow it to use you.

Human Pheromones - Myth or fact?

Pheromones are chemicals that send signals to other members of the same species.

These signals could serve many purposes such as marking out territory (As dogs and cats do through urination) or to mark a food trail (Have you ever wondered how ants all seem to converge on the same food source?) or to send alarm signals warning other members of the species of impending danger.

However, the most widely known purpose and the one which has always attracted the most attention is the use of pheromones as a means of sexual attraction.

Pheromones as a sexual attractant were identified as far back as 1956 when scientists extracted a compound from certain glands on the abdomen of the silkworm moth.

This pheromone which they named bombykol was found to have an amazing effect on male silkworm moths. When exposed to it they immediately went into a frenzied "flutter dance".

The scientists realized they had found a vital element in the process of sexual attraction for these moths. Over time, this information has been used to control and disrupt the breeding cycles of many insects and pests.

Insects in general have very simple and predictable behavior patterns and are therefore the easiest subjects for this sort of experimentation. Do pheromones work in the world of mammals as well?

Studies done on hamsters and rats certainly seem to suggest they do. These studies also suggested that pheromones do not act directly on the normal olfactory senses.

They do involve smells but they seem to act through a very specific channel. Researchers believe that the vomeronasal organs were instrumental in picking up these specialized signals.

The vomeronasal organs or VNO's are tiny cigar-shapes organs found in the nostrils which appear to communicate directly with the parts of the brain that control reproduction and parenting behavior.

That's all very well but do these same mechanisms of attraction and behavior modification apply to the most complex of mammals - man himself? This has long been debated.

Sense of smell is perhaps one of human beings least used senses and given the world we live in we perhaps need to rely on it less for survival than other primitive mammals.

On the other hand a multi-billion dollar worldwide perfume industry is ample proof of the importance that most of us place on odors and perhaps the lengths to which we go to mask what we consider to be undesirable smells.

But do humans have naturally occurring pheromones which impact on the lives of others in the species? Several studies have shown promising results.

Dr. Winifred Cutler, a biologist and behavioral endocrinologist, found pheromones present in underarm secretions.

She also found that women who had regular sex with men had more regular menstrual cycles. Pheromones which had been identified in the underarms of men contributed significantly to this outcome.

Another notable study was conducted by Martha Mclintock in the 1970's when she observed that the menstrual cycles of groups of women who lived together tended to become synchronized.

Further study revealed the startling fact that it was exposure to pheromones from other women which caused the changes in cycle. Test subjects were exposed to sweat samples collected from other women.

Their menstrual cycles slowed down or speeded up depending on the time of month when the samples had been collected.

The implications of this discovery for treatment of infertility or even contraception are obviously extremely exciting and it has been suggested that pheromones could also be used to alter mood and alleviate depression and stress.

Pheromones are also likely to be the scientific basis of the romantic concept of "chemistry" between individuals- that feeling of an instant attraction and connection with certain people.

There is also evidence that we seek out mates whose immune systems complement ours. In other words we are instinctively attracted to people whose immune systems are most different from our own.

This ensures the production of the strongest and healthiest offspring. Our instinctive actions are based on the pheromonal signals we pick up.

There are hundreds if not thousands of businesses out there trying to sell all manner of supposedly pheromonal products which in many cases promise almost immediate and amazing results usually in attracting members of the opposite sex.

However, evidence of their effectiveness is sketchy at best. Nevertheless, pheromones without question have some part to play and at this point in time it still remains just another aspect of the amazing human physiology somewhat shrouded in mystery.

Say Hello to Your Soul

New technological discoveries need to be looked at closely and their implications discussed.

Recently scientists have been able to use new technology to thoroughly study the human body. This technology lets them "see" and measure something that was talked about but never really proven. What is it?

It is the electrical current that circulates throughout the body. It carries your thoughts from the processing area of your brain to the storage area and vice versa.

The sensations you experience when you touch something, smell something, hear something or see something are transmitted to the brain by electrical currents passed through your nerves.

They have ascertained that when you learn something new, new synapses are formed. If you repeat something over and over for a period of time (20 - 22 days), the same electrical pathways fire over and over.

What you were repeating becomes a "learned" response and will become part of your habits.

Up to the time this new technology was used, medical scientists and doctors have stated that they have never seen or found the soul in all of their studies. Maybe, now they have. They just haven't recognized it.

We all know what the heart looks like and what it does. It is the pump that circulates the blood, which carries oxygen and nutrients throughout the body.

We also know what the brain looks like and what it does. Using computer terminology, it is the central processing unit and hard drive of the body. Maybe this newly confirmed electrical current is the soul.

When conception takes place between egg and sperm, cell division begins. At some point during pregnancy, suspected to be just before the fetus begins to move, an electrical spark begins within the fetus and thoughts and sensations commence.

Currently there is no proof concerning the origin of this spark. Some surmise that it comes from the mother and others that it comes from an external source.

A large number of women who have experienced pregnancy reported a funny feeling, a tingle or a minor pain, shortly before their baby began to move. This was when the spark of life or the soul of the baby commenced.

The universal law of energy states that energy, like matter, can neither be created nor destroyed, but only transformed from one type to another. If the electrical impulses in the human body cannot be created, then they had to get there from another source.

Similarly, when the human body dies, the electrical current in the body cannot be destroyed, so it must leave the body. This would explain the fleeting images seen by thousands of people worldwide who have been watching someone at the moment that person died.

The expression "the immortal soul" could refer to the electrical essence released from the body at the instant of death.

When we get more sophisticated equipment capable of detecting minute electrical impulses in the air, maybe we will be able to locate the souls of the departed. The universal laws would seem to support this hypothesis.

What do you think?

Thought and The Law of Attraction

We have all heard the expression, "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again." But to carry on without thinking about why you failed only leads to more failure.

The ability to create is a God given gift. A gift given to everyone without exception.

Thought is the first step to manifesting any creation. Thoughts are energy, they are real. Your thoughts act as magnets and attract other thoughts, people, and circumstances that harmonize with them.

Thoughts operate and adhere to certain universal laws. Without these laws there would be no order; the universe itself would sink into chaos.

The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. Much of what was once considered metaphysical, esoteric knowledge in the past is now scientific fact.

Physics has shown that the principles involved in the Law of Attraction are every bit as valid as those governing the Law of Gravity. So it should come as no surprise that dwelling only on your problems simply attracts more problems.

The idea of attracting success by thinking about it is very appealing. So appealing in fact, people often get the wrong impression that it's easy. Affirmations can be helpful, but mindless affirmations alone have no real value.

On the other hand, once an affirmation becomes part of your belief system the subconscious goes to work attracting opportunities. It is not the success itself we attract, but the opportunity to succeed.

Our world is ruled by cause and effect, yet we often fail to see how this rule applies to the thoughts we think. This happens because the results of our thoughts are so far removed from the cause that we fail to see the connection.

The subconscious mind is working tirelessly 24 hours a day. It doesn't analyze, it doesn't judge, it simply accepts and attracts more of what the conscious mind is focused on.

Are you attracting problems or solutions?

By focusing on desire and showing gratitude for what you already have, the subconscious mind is given the necessary material to provide a constant stream of opportunities. Whether we take advantage of these opportunities or not is another story.

It's impossible to operate outside the law of attraction. Consciously or unconsciously your thoughts, feelings, and emotions, determine if this law works for or against you. Stay focused on your success and reaching your goals.

As one success leads to another, success becomes a habit. Problems and obstacles are seen as no more than stepping stones on the road to your ultimate goal.

Making the Move to New Grounds

Haven’t we all dreamed of living in an exotic place away from the norm that we have known all our lives?

Whether you are just leaving your parents nest, looking for a new start in life, or your job just happens to take you away, making the move to new grounds can be equally exciting and challenging.

Will I be happy once I get there? That’s the biggest question that needs careful thought and planning on your part. Following are a few simple tips to help you in choosing the right destination to help avoid having regrets once you’ve made the move.

1) Geographical Area: The area which you choose to live should be one where you feel rejuvenated and alive. If you love the mountains live there; if you love the ocean live there; if you love the desert live there. Live where you love it best.

2) Income: Can I make the income for the lifestyle I desire? If you have the ability to earn an income to support yourself at the level you desire then you’re headed on the right track. However, money isn’t everything. When you actually like your job and the people you work with then you are doing well. When searching for a new job it is a good idea to talk with potential future associates to get an idea of the working environment.

3) Safety: Being safe in your living environment is crucial to your wellbeing and ability to relax in your own atmosphere. If you don’t personally know someone living in the area, you may want to talk with the local law enforcement to help answers questions about the safety and security of the area.

4) Activities: Does the area offer the religious, arts, entertainment, social groups, sport activities, restaurants you enjoy? Some areas may be more prolific than others in offering the activities that you desire most where others may not offer any at all. Be sure and make a check list of all the activities you desire and inquire before making your move.

5) Family and Friends: Having family and friends nearby is a definite plus. However, if you are out there all alone and tend to get homesick, make sure that you will have the ability to get back home when you feel the urge.

6) Social Offerings: If you don’t know anyone in the area it is a good idea to find out if there are people in your social group in your area. Talking with neighbors in the area you are seeking to move is a great resource for finding people of your like interest.

7) Renting vs. Buying: Before moving to a new area it is a good idea to consider renting a place for at least six months in order to get to know the area better.

Many people often buy a home and later discover that they would have much preferred living across town or some other scenario. Before staking your ground, just put up a temporary living quarters until you’ve decided that making the move was right for you.

For some people the grass is definitely greener elsewhere; for others it is just not the color they had envisioned. Making the most of life is what is truly important and however or wherever you choose to do so is totally up to what is best for you.

When you find true happiness that is truly a blessing and to be able to make a fresh start, whether you move or not, well that’s an adventure worth seeking.

SUCCESS - LOVE - INFIDELITY

How to Succeed – Live by Love

We must first learn what love really is. The love that is discussed here is not the emotional love that people fall into and then fall out of.

The best definition of love is explained in 2 John 6 which says, “And this is love, that we walk after his commandments.

This is the commandment, that, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.”

This takes love as some hard to explain emotion and explains it in a more definitive way. If you follow God’s commandments you will be walking in love.

We have been given the Bible so we can know what the commandments of God are. The first step is to learn what the will of God is and then act on it.

Learning to walk in love affects all areas of your life. The Bible says that faith works by love.

Answered prayer is hindered when a believer steps out of love and does forgive.

Here are some characteristics of love which you can read about in First Corinthians 13:4-8.

Love is patient and kind, is never envious, is not boastful, is not conceited, does not insist on its own way, is not resentful, pays no attention to wrong done to it. Love bears up under everything. Love never fails.

This may seem like something you could never attain but, as a child of God, you have been recreated into a spirit of love.

You need to make the decision to perfect that love and then commit yourself to obey the Word of God.

There will be times when your senses and emotions will tell you one thing to do but the Word tells you something else to do.

What you do at times like this will determine whether you grow in love or if you walk in selfishness.

You need to remember back when you made the decision to walk in love and to ask God for wisdom and to do what the Word says to do.

Both love and faith grow by action. When you do have a situation like this and you do the right thing and follow God’s love, it will build your love so you will have more strength the next time you have to make a hard decision.

It may seem that when you walk by love that you will never get anywhere because you are always putting others before yourself.

You have to realize, though, that God said that love never fails and that he will see to it that you do not fail.

You need to stay in the Word, confess the Word and act on the Word.

This will bring you close to God and then He will be able to direct your life and His Love working through you will be the basis of your success.

Self-esteem and Success

Self-esteem is defined as "Personal feelings or opinions of oneself".

It has become the third most frequently occurring topic in psychological literature and by 2003, there were over 25,000 articles and books on the subject.

Since that time, the number of new articles and books has increased dramatically. If you query "self-esteem books or self-esteem articles" on Google, you get 2.27 million hits which shows how obsessed we have become with this topic.

Unfortunately, psychologists cannot agree on whether self-esteem is good for you or detrimental. In fact, they cannot even agree on exactly what self-esteem is and what role it plays in an individual's life.

What is known is that self-esteem encompasses a person's beliefs about himself or herself.

Psychologists usually regard self-esteem as an enduring personality characteristic, although they also acknowledge that short-term variations in a person's self-esteem can be caused by outside events that affect that particular individual.

If you do something well, particularly if you are praised by someone else for what you have done, your self-esteem will be higher than normal.

Conversely, if you fail at something, your self-esteem will be lower than normal.

Self-esteem can apply to a specific trait or ability (for example, "I believe I am a good golfer and feel proud of that particular ability") or have an overall scope (for example, "I believe that I am a good person and feel proud of myself in general").

Here, we are not talking about a narcissistic belief about one's self, but a deep-rooted knowledge that you are truly a good person.

This deep-rooted knowledge will be supported by your actions and deeds.

Self-help writers and psychologists have long believed that having good self-esteem ensured success at one's endeavors.

However, recent studies of students have revealed that working to inflate one's self-esteem alone, instead of increasing the student's grades actually caused them to decline.

Further studies in this regard are underway to determine why this happened and whether the lack of correlation between grades and self-esteem is factual or if the method of increasing the subject's self-esteem was flawed and invalidated the results.

One interesting fact has become known from all these studies.

It has been determined that western societies are fixated on self-esteem and the role it plays in a person's success, while other societies, who place little emphasis on self-esteem, seem to have as many or even more successes.

Perhaps in our over zealous pursuit of success, we have placed so much emphasis on self-esteem that we have created our very own myth.

Maybe success depends more on doing things than it does on beliefs and attitudes.

How Can You Recover From Infidelity?

When we enter a relationship, everything seems so perfect and magical, and we expect it to last forever.

However, most relationships experience some difficult times at some point.

But occasionally, the troubled times collapse into infidelity involving one of the partner's.

Infidelity can be a rough thing for a relationship to rebound back from.

There are methods to ward off a total close down of your relationship.

The number one thing is to make certain that you want to save the relationship. In order to rebound back from an infidelity issue, you have to be willing to resolve the issue.

If one partner Is not ready, or prefers to hold on to a grudge, then there will be no way of mending it, regardless however hard each individual tries.

Take some time away from one another before you begin to mend anything.

Both partner's in a relationship need to spend time by themselves and think the matter through.

You will need a unclouded mind when you begin the recuperation process. You will want to plan to take a while for this to materialize.

Recuperating from something like this does not take place in a few days.

If you go into it thinking that it will, you are only kidding yourself and setting your relationship recovery up for failure.

When your minds are moderately clear and you are both prepared, sit down and talk it out. Talk about why the unfaithfulness happened in the first place.

Find out what induced it and see if matters can change to prevent it from occurring over again.

Deal solely with your mate. Do not make the mistake of attempting to go after the person who they were cheating with or bring outsiders into the mix to take sides.

Even though it takes two to tango, there is no reason to dredge the other person into it.

The trouble lies with your mate - and you need to discover what induced them to do it.

Talk over what your feelings are since this has occurred. It was not easy on you to discover the infidelity your mate was caught up in.

He or she will need to recognize precisely what you went through when you found out.

If you feel the relationship is deserving, do not be apprehensive to get some professional guidance.

A counselor may be able to assist both of you in working out your feelings and concerns and help you come up with a program of action on how you will be able to recover.

Each situation is different and a professional person can identify what may work for both of you.

If both partners are willing, they can work out the troubles and issues the unfaithfulness has caused in the relationship.

Recovery will come a bit quicker for both involved if they are willing to talk out their feelings and thoughts and work through them together.

If you want the relationship to survive, it will take time, and plenty of talking and soul searching, but it can be done.

Remember, forgiveness is one of the most precious ways to show your partner how much you love them.

Why Are You Addicted to Cigarettes?

You initially become addicted to cigarettes because of the fast action of nicotine on the pleasure centers of your brain.

When you puff on a cigarette, the nicotine in your lungs enters your blood stream and within 15 to 20 seconds begins to work on your brain.

Once in your brain, nicotine binds to receptors that are intended for the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

This binding causes a change in the cell walls that allow calcium or sodium ions to enter the cell. After that, a number of additional brain neurotransmitters are released.

These neurotransmitters affect your mood and behavior. The neurotransmitter dopamine affects the reward center that causes feelings of pleasure and enjoyment.

Serotonin helps moderate your mood and controls your appetite. GABA produces a calming effect that reduces anxiety.

Smoking is a means of artificially spiking the acetylcholine system resulting in feelings of pleasure, calmness, and a moderation of your mood.

Because of these positive effects and the speed with which they are associated with nicotine intake (taking a puff) smoking is highly addictive.

As an occasional or social smoker, you may begin to use cigarettes as a means of coping with life's daily stresses. You switch from social smoking to daily smoking.

Once you begin smoking several cigarettes a day, nicotine is constantly stimulating your brain, 24 hours a day. You are psychologically addicted to the positive effects of nicotine.

Over a period of several years a transition begins to take place in the addiction mechanism.

Your brain adapts to the frequent presence of nicotine. Your brain physically changes by increasing the nicotine receptor concentration.

This requires more nicotine for your brain to function properly. That is, your brain now becomes dependent on nicotine for normal functions. This adaptation produces tolerance for nicotine.

When your brain is unable to get the required amount of nicotine, you experience withdrawal symptoms.

These withdrawal symptoms include irritability, restlessness, difficulty in getting along with family and friends, sleeplessness, anxiety, depression, hunger, difficulty concentrating, and lethargy.

Half the nicotine in your body is metabolized and broken down every 2 hours. As your nicotine level declines, the withdrawal symptoms set in.

The only way to relieve the withdrawal symptoms is with another dose of nicotine. You now smoke, not for pleasure, but to eliminate withdrawal symptoms.

As an addicted cigarette smoker, you often need your first dose of nicotine as soon as possible in the morning. Many smokers take their first puffs within 5 minutes of awakening.

Throughout the day, you need additional doses of nicotine every couple of hours. You are often willing to leave the comfort of a smoke-free environment to stand in the freezing cold, rain, or sweltering heat to get your next dose of nicotine. You are definitely in the second stage of nicotine addiction.

Overall, your smoking addiction started out as a psychologically addiction to the positive effects of nicotine on your brain.

But, because the brain adapts to nicotine, your smoking addiction winds up as a means of preventing the negative effects of withdrawal symptoms.

BELIEVE IN YOUR SELF

Don't we all want to be successful?
In life?
As a person?
In your career, job, business?

The fundamental law of human achievement is the law of belief. It suggests that you always behave in a manner consistent with your beliefs.

If you believe you are a Roman Catholic, then you are. If you believe you are a Buddhist, you are. If you believe you can ride a bicycle, then you can ride a bicycle.

Even if you can't ride a bicycle as long as you believe you can, but if not then you will persist in failing until you can actually ride. Unfortunately, once you decide you can't ride a bicycle, then you can't.

Even though we are all capable of riding a bicycle, once you believe you can't, you can't.
You then suffer from the self-limiting belief that you just cannot do it. Your belief is not based on fact it is just a belief.

Even though our self-limiting beliefs are not based on fact, we always behave in a manner consistent with our beliefs. If you believe you can drive a car, be creative, set goals, implement a successful life strategy, or marketing strategy, sell well, negotiate, be a leader, understand the financial implications, manage your time well, etc., then you can master all these skills.

Even if at the present time you have not mastered these skills, as long as you believe you are excellent, then you will make the necessary efforts. You will set goals, design a personal development plan, and set personal and family goals and resolve to pay the necessary price.

Another vitally important aspect of the law of belief is that you can believe anything that you want to believe. You can believe that you are brilliant at marketing, selling, finance, relationships and time management.

You can believe that you are successful in business. You can believe that you are a millionaire. As long as you truly believe, then you will hang on to that belief, despite setbacks, until your beliefs become your reality. Without a doubt, your beliefs are your reality.

Make a decision to adopt beliefs which are consistent with achieving your goals. All successful people have beliefs consistent with what they want to achieve. Join them! Make a decision to change your beliefs.

The beliefs you hold at the moment are largely responsible for the position you hold at the moment. If you change your beliefs, then you change your reality. Changing your beliefs about yourself means changing your self-concept.

Your self-concept is your bundle of beliefs about yourself. Make a decision to adopt the self-concept which is consistent with achieving your goals. We get our beliefs from our culture and what other people tell us.

When we are little our most significant others tell us things which describe us. If the parent tells the child he is useless he will grow up believing it and manifesting that uselessness in his life.

If the daughter was told she is beautiful and sings like an angel, she will grow up believing it whether it is true or not.

Everything starts with ideas or thoughts. Thoughts and ideas become feelings which eventually become beliefs. Your beliefs have a powerful effect on your expectations.

Your expectations have a powerful effect on your attitude. If you believe you are destined to become successful then this has a strong effect on your expectations which in turn become very positive.

Your positive expectations are translated into a very positive attitude. Your attitude is the major determinant of your success in achieving your goals.

Everything comes back to beliefs.

Successful people have the beliefs of successful people; unsuccessful people have the beliefs of unsuccessful people. Make a decision to adopt the beliefs consistent with being successful.

Make a decision to shake off self-limiting beliefs and negative emotions. This drains energy and is time wasting. Replace them with positive beliefs and positive emotions. Start now! And belief in yourself!

The Power of Persistence

Napoleon Hill, one of the first great self help gurus, thought that persistence was so important that he devoted a chapter to it in his landmark book "Think And Grow Rich." Chapter IX refers to persistence as "The sustained effort necessary to induce faith."
He called persistence the eighth step toward riches. However, another sentence on page one of this chapter really defines how important persistence is.

That sentence is: "There may be no heroic connotation to the word "persistence," but the quality is to the character of man what carbon is to steel."

Persistence strengthens the character of a person so much that he can do whatever it takes to reach his goal or complete the task he has undertaken.

Throughout history, there have been many examples of this. Dr. Jonas Salk, who found the vaccine for polio, persisted with his research even though he failed 200 times before he found a vaccine that worked.

Thomas Edison kept working at creating a light bulb even though he failed more than 10,000 times. His persistence paid off and we use his invention every night to light our homes after the sun goes down.

If you read autobiographies, you will learn that most famous and wealthy individuals failed numerous times before they were successful.

Each time their persistence allowed them to gain what they were striving for. The power of persistence is that all individuals who persist long enough will eventually reach their goal

No other characteristic has that power. A persistent trickle of water running slowly over the same place on a rock for a long period of time will wear away the rock.

Even though water is not as hard as stone, through persistence, water will always win. That is the power of persistence.

Persistence at something will always win.

So, how can you make persistence a habit that you always use?

These four little steps will create this valuable habit:

1. Have a specific goal and support it with a burning desire for fulfillment.

2. Have a definite plan you follow and take continual action on that plan.

3. Do not listen to any negative or discouraging suggestions. Also, do not let any negative occurrences dissuade you from continuing your action.

4. Find a mentor who will encourage you in your endeavors and who will push you when you slow down.

It doesn't matter what it is you are trying to do, if you follow these four steps you will be successful in everything you do.

These steps are what you can use to improve your wealth and obtain power, fame, recognition and freedom of thought.

These steps will change your dreams into reality.

Seven Easy Ways to Build Unshakeable Confidence

Just about everybody will suffer from a lack of confidence at some time. Having a set of simple exercises you can practice during these times is an invaluable aid to getting your confidence level back on track as quickly as possible.

Here are seven things you can do to boost or maintain your confidence.

1. Practice correct posture. This might not sound like it's obviously related to confidence, but how you sit and how you stand sends a message out to those around you.

If that message radiates confidence out from you, you will get positive vibes back which will bolster your confidence. So, learn to stand like you have confidence and sit like you have confidence.

2. Surround yourself with confident and positive people. It may seem self-evident, but if you are consistently mixing with people of low self-esteem, this is going to rub off on you.

Conversely, if the people around you are upbeat and assured, this will tend to create a positive atmosphere that you will benefit from.

3. Remember a time when you felt confident. Confidence is a feeling, and if you've felt it once, you can feel it again.

Remembering back to a time when you felt confident and in control will enable you to re-experience that feeling and help to put you in a confident frame of mind.

4. Practice. Whatever it is you want to feel confident about, practice it as often as you can. When you work on something until you could do it in your sleep, you can't fail to be confident in your ability to perform when it matters.

5. Think about all of the things you like about yourself and all of the things you know you do well.

If you have any trouble doing this, think about the compliments you get from people - what are they telling you - you do well?

It's a good idea to write these things down so you'll have them to refer to when your confidence is flagging and you need some inspiration.

6. Don't give yourself a hard time. Don't be your own worst critic, be your own best friend.

After all, if a friend of yours was going through a tough time, you wouldn't get on their case, would you?

No, of course you wouldn't. Positive self-talk can be one of your best weapons for confidence-boosting, so make sure you cultivate the habit.

7. Don't be afraid to take risks. If you become a regular risk-taker you'll find that it's inevitable that you'll grow in confidence as a result.

There really is nothing like forcing yourself out of your comfort zone to increase your confidence. It will also serve to reduce your fear of the unknown, which can be a great confidence-sapper.

Remember, you do have talents and abilities. Make sure you give yourself due credit for these on a regular basis and this will prove to be the very best springboard for building unstoppable confidence.

Creatively Reusing and Recycling Books and Magazines

As more and more old-growth trees are cut down, and we face the reality of having to wait close to 100 years or more to replace them, the need for recycling paper gets greater and greater.

Paper, of course, includes books and magazines. And while they are nearly 100% biodegradable, there is no point in sending these resources to the dump to rot in the landfill when they are so reusable and recyclable.

More than any other material we hope to recycle, books and magazines represent knowledge.

There is wisdom to be found in the pages of old books, and culture to learn about in the pages of old magazines. Because of this factor, the best thing to do with old books and magazines is pass them on.

Libraries are usually very happy to receive donations of old books, and sometimes even magazines, that are in good shape.

This allows other people to benefit from the publication as well. Once you have enjoyed and learned from a book, rather than letting it sit on a shelf to collect dust, donating it to a library is a great way to share and reuse it.

The second choice, for both books and magazines, is to sell them to a used bookstore, at a garage sale, flea market, or on eBay.

Other people may be looking for the exact book or magazine you have, so passing it on by offering it for sale is a win-win scenario for you and the new owner.

If you wish to reuse publications in a creative way, magazines make good colorful craft supplies for children and adults alike.

You can cut out parts of pictures to make collages by pasting the picture pieces to a cardboard backing, or make hanging mobiles by cutting out shapes, stringing pieces of thread through holes at the top, and attaching the strings to a clothes hanger.

You can also cut out whole pictures to construct a dream board or a vision board, which helps you to think about and visualize the goals and dreams you want to achieve; for instance, a Hawaiian vacation, a certain type of job, or a new sports car.

As for traditional recycling, some areas will let you place books or magazines in your blue bin for pickup as well.

Magazines are traditionally printed on glossy paper, which is more expensive to recycle because there is not a high demand for products made from recycled glossy paper; however, this will change in the future as the need for recycling paper is seen and understood more and more.

The biggest challenge with recycling books and magazines is separating the paper from the adhesives or staples used to bind the pages.

Forward-thinking recycling companies have a way to remove the waste from the bindings magnetically, however, so we should soon be seeing more and more opportunities to recycle all kinds of paper products.

So next time you're thinking about throwing away some books or magazines, think first about how you can pass them along for others to enjoy.

If that doesn't work for you, try to reuse them creatively. And if you still can't find a use for them, look for places to take them where they can be recycled into new paper products, so we can save more trees.
